Fulfilling the promise made to the Nigerian car enthusiasts and patrons that Made-in-Nigeria KIA will be available before the end of the year, the car maker with the slogan, “the power to surprise presented the three models to the visitors. The made in Nigeria Rio is expected to cost less than N2m.
The
Made-in-Nigeria KIA cars, which included the Rio, Cerato and Optima were
unveiled by the Honorable Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory,
FCT, Mrs. Olajumoke Akinjide, who
represented the Vice President, Architect Namadi Sambo. The minister also had a
test drive of the Made-in-Nigeria OPTIMA at the venue.
Mrs. Olajumoke Akinjide stepped into the red
Made-in-Nigeria KIA Optima and took a
test drive within the Eagle Square in the company of the Chief Commercial
Officer of KIA Motors Nigeria, Mr. Sandeep Malhotra and the Managing Director
of BKG Exhibitions, Mr. Ifeanyi Agwu and the Deputy Director of the National
Automotive Council, Mr. P. B. Salau (who represented the Director-General,
National Automotive council. At the unveiling, Mrs. Olajumoke Akinjide
expressed her delight and commended KIA Motors for the made-in-Nigeria cars and
described the Kia Rio as “the People’s Car”.
The Minister
also took a look at other KIA models on display at the fair ground and was
thrilled by the KIA SOUL, describing it as “incredibly built to compliment the
youth and the women”. The flagship model of Kia, The Quoris also caught the
fancy of the minister when she was shown around the luxury sedan by Mr. Sandeep
Malhotra.
