Bread is far away from
being in the most healthy food category one can eat bread as toast, sandwiches,
etc See five reasons why bread is not healthy…..
1. Constipation and do not have enough nutrients:
Starch in bread could slow
down food in the intestine; food with fibre softens, binds and accelerates the
movement of food through your intestines. Any sluggish movement of the food
makes the large intestines to absorb all the moisture from the food which lead
to hard and uncomfortable stool. White bread and items lacks nutrients. You’re
not getting any fibre you’re not getting the wholesomeness of grains you’re
basically getting nothing important out of it. While bread made of wheat is a
little better, if you’re looking for nutrients, bread made out of whole grains
is what you must opt for.
2. Contain too much salt:
Bread varieties, especially
the processed kind that you buy from the supermarket, contain lots of salt. So
if you eat less bread, the amount of sodium in your body is significantly
reduced. Of course, one slice of bread, every now and then won’t do any damage.
In fact, you can bake your own bread at home, without adding too much salt.
3. Makes you gain weight:
Bread is made with a whole lot
of fat and bad carb it includes, salt, refined sugar and preservatives. It makes one gain unwanted weight, eating in
moderation is alright; especially when you take time to make sure it’s as
healthy as possible, by making sure you include vegetables like cucumber,
lettuce , tomatoes in your sandwiches.
4. Abnormal Cholesterol
Bread has no Vitamin E
which is necessary for reducing low-density and bad cholesterol. Fibre is required to prevent the bad cholesterol
in entering the blood stream because it binds and eliminates stool and Vitamin
E is needed to flush out toxic free element from the blood.
5. High In Carbs and
increase Blood Sugar level
The starches in bread get
broken down quickly and it enters into the bloodstream as glucose, it causes an
increase in blood sugar and insulin level.
