Fifty-four year-old pastor
Udoh Okon was arrested by Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping a
9-year-old girl. .
TheNation reports that
Okon, pastor of the Christian Remaining Church, Bankole Street, Famous Bus
Stop, Shomolu, was arrested yesterday by the gender section of the command
after the mother of the victim, Peace Effiong, filed a defilement case.
According to police
commissioner Edgal, the woman reported that she noticed that her daughter
behaved strangely, adding that she had checked the child on April 13 while she
slept and saw sperm coming out of her private ward.

Alarmed by the discovery,
Edgal said the woman told detectives she woke her child up and asked her that
the victim mentioned Okon as the man who has raped her since last year.

He said, "The little
girl went on to reveal that it was in the pastor's office's business at the
above-mentioned address that she was profaned." A medical examination
revealed that the victim's hymen had been broken long ago an indication that
the suspect had a carnal knowledge of them for a long time.
The investigation into this
case is ongoing. "The pastor rejected the claim, claiming that it was only
against the Mother of the victim appealed not to punish her in public.

He said, "Me and a few
people went into the woman's shop and saw their daughter kneeling with blocks
on her hands and she cried, I asked what had happened and her mother said
someone had told her that Whenever the child came to the facility, someone had
slept with her.
Our businesses are not far
from each other, I begged the woman to forgive the child and she should no
longer publicly punish her She did not listen to me and so I left her and went
into my own shop, I'm surprised they said I messed them up.
The child could be my
granddaughter, there was a day when she came to my shop and I asked her to help
me carry empty crates.I sell soft drinks.She helped me carry the boxes to my
other shop and kept them outside. That
was all.
