In a statement the Metropolitan Police said: ‘Armed response officers responded to reports of a stabbing in Oxford Street at 7.17pm close to Oxford Circus.
An unidentified man was found with multiple stab wounds in London’s busiest shopping district.
Armed police were rushed to Oxford Street shortly after 7pm this evening following reports of a knife attack close to Oxford Circus station.
The man’s condition is not yet known, and he is yet to be identified, the Met Police said.
One eyewitness told MyLondon: ‘I was there when they pulled up. Two X5’s and a ambulance car followed by a helicopter and a ambulance. Terrible.
‘A male has been found with multiple stab wounds. We await an update on his condition.
