pop star Beyonce has announced she will reunite with her former R&B girl
group to release "the first original Destiny's Child music in eight
years".
Beyonce,
making the announcement on her personal Web site, said she is "proud"
to get back together with Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland.
The
trio's new compilation album, Love Songs – featuring a new track, Nuclear - can
be pre-ordered online before its January 29 release.
Destiny's
Child released its first, eponymous album in 1998. That was followed by three
more studio albums including the quadruple-platinum Survivor.
The group
disbanded after its 2004 release of Destiny Fulfilled, and Beyonce launched a
successful solo career.
She was
named earlier this week as a performer during Barack Obama's second
presidential inauguration on January 21.
