Ladoja Creates Drama at Adedibu's Fidau
There was a mild drama on Wednesday at the 5th Fidau in honour of the late
politician, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, as former Oyo State governor, Rashidi Ladoja,
rejected the chair offered him by the organisers of the programme.
The former governor, who arrived at the Molete residence of the late
politician in company with his wife, Mutia, also refused to exchange greetings
with the former deputy governor of the state, Hazeem Gbolarumi.
Gbolarumi was deputy governor during the 11-month tenure of Adebayo
Alao-Akala following Ladoja's impeachment in January, 2006.
After greeting the dignitaries and some of his aides, the former governor
rejected the plastic chair that was reserved for him.
One of his security aides had replaced the chair with another one when one of
the organisers insisted that Ladoja should sit on a reserved seat.
Ladoja's aides, however, insisted that the former governor would not sit on
the chair.
Meanwhile, some political disciples of the late politician said the vacuum
left behind by Adedibu "is too big for any politician in the state and the
entire South-West to wear."
Former Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Mikail Aborode, said, "The demise
of Adedibu greatly affects the chances of the party not only in Oyo State but in
the South-West."
The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Imam Busari Haruna, urged politicians to
emulate the good deeds of the late politician.
