According to Punch, popular actor and producer, Jimoh Aliu, will reunite with many of his fans
when his theatre group performs at the Imeside Diaspora Festival starting today
(Friday).
The organisers say Governors Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun)
and Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun) will, alongside some prominent monarchs, co-host the
annual cultural celebration of the six Imesi .
The monarchs are the Owa Ooye of Imesi-Ile, Oba Enoch Akinyemi; Onimesi of
Imesi-Ekiti, Oba Adeleye Oladimeji; Owa Ooye of Okemesi-Ekiti, Oba Michael
Gbadebo; Olu-Imasayi of Imasayi, Oba Adesola Oni; Olu-Isa of Ijebu-Ode, Oba
Rasheed Adesanya; and the Owa of Okun-Owa, Oba Gabriel Abiodun.
The event will take place between August 16 and 17, 2013 at Imesi-Ekiti, Osun
State. The cultural celebration, being put together by the Imeside Diaspora
Initiative, is said to be a platform for co-ordinating, harmonising and
promoting the socio-cultural and historical interests of Imesi-Ile, Imesi-Ekiti,
Okemesi-Ekiti, Imasayi, Imesi-Isale and the Olu-Isa kingdom of Ijebu-Ode.
