It seems Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus have struck up
something of a friendship after the Oops, I did it again singer filmed scenes for Miley's upcoming documentary.
Britney
came to Miley's defence during an interview with Mario Lopez when the
host asked if they had bonded over the intense media attention they had
both received.
"I remember that age when I was just
transferring into my career and, like, doing more controversial things
and the energy that you feel and all this chaos that goes on," she told
him.
"She is on fire right now, she's just a ball full of energy."
The music stars had appeared to hit it off as they chatted for Miley's documentary Miley: The Movement.
In scenes for a trailer – filmed before her controversial Video Music Awards performance – the 20-year-old singer seems to hint at a memorable show ahead.
Miley
tells her: "Everyone takes the VMAs so seriously and I just wanna come
out and like shoot a hot dog gun. I just wanna have fun.
It's
been a mixed week for Miley. On Wednesday, her new single Wrecking Ball
reached the top on the US Billboard charts - her first ever number one.
That news will have come as a welcome distraction for Miley given the troubles in her personal life.
On
Monday, Miley and her fiancé Liam Hemsworth confirmed that they had
called off their 16-month engagement, bringing to an end a tumultuous
year in their relationship.
Australian actor Liam has
since been linked to 23-year-old Mexican beauty Eiza Gonzalez. The pair
were spotted partying together at a VIP club in Las Vegas at the weekend, and were also spotted together the following day.
