Killied Pregnant Girlfriend Chopped Up Body In Bite Sized Pieces For Vultures

According to Daily Mail, a 32-year-old Spanish butcher Jose Miguel Tamayo has been arrested for allegedly killing his pregnant girlfriend and then chopping up her body in bite sized pieces to feed to wild vultures.

Police believe Jose Miguel murdered his 30-year-old girlfriend, Carolina Bernal Gomez after discovering she was pregnant.
Her remains are believed to have been fed to the birds at the only nature reserve in Europe which is home to wild vultures north of Madrid.

It is thought the man fed his girlfriend's corpse to wild vultures in a nature reserve north of Madrid.
Officers also claimed that the couple's relationship had been strained for quite a while and the butcher is thought to have physically assaulted his girlfriend when he found out about her baby and when he realised he had killed her, he allegedly butchered her body into bite-sized pieces to hide any evidence of the crime.

Police were suspicious because Jose Miguel waited several weeks before he declared she was missing and when he was interviewed by officers, he gave contradictory statements about their relationship and her absence.
Juan Pablo Herranz, the deputy minister of Guadalajara said, ‘The victim had not lodged any complaint of ill-treatment at any time. It seems as if it was a spur of the moment killing.’
Vultures are known for being able to sniff out dead flesh from up to a mile away, though most birds have no sense of smell.
The creatures are able to detect sulphurous chemical compounds found in decaying meat from their sky vantage point, and tend to circle around towards the ground until they have sourced the origin of the scent.
