Dennis Rodman In Rehab

Former NBA basketball star Dennis Rodman has checked into an alcohol rehabilitation centre.

His agent, Darren Prince, confirmed the move but would not say in which facility Rodman is being treated or how long he is expected to be there.

Rodman has recently returned from a controversial trip to North Korea, in which he sang Happy Birthday to leader Kim Jong-Un at the start of an exhibition basketball game.

The ex-player was heavily criticised for an outburst about captive American missionary Kenneth Bae in a televised interview earlier this month.

Mr Bae was detained in North Korea in November 2012 and placed in a labour camp.

In the interview, Rodman, 52, was challenged on why he is not using his connections with the North Korean leader to help Mr Bae. Rodman suggested that Kim was right in detaining the 45-year-old.

He later apologised for comments he made, saying he had been drinking and was under pressure as he organised the exhibition game there.
