School Suspension: 9 Year Old Shaves Head In Support Of Cancer

A nine-year-old girl who shaved her head in support of her friend who has cancer was suspended from her school because it was "against the dress code policy".

Kamryn Renfro's tribute - which she said "was the right thing to do" - was given the go-ahead by her parents.

But she was shocked when her school, Caprock Academy in Grand Junction, Colorado, sent her home.
She has since been allowed back following national news coverage, and the school has launched an investigation into the decision.

The gesture was made in support of Delaney Clements, 11, who lost her hair after undergoing chemotherapy during treatment for neuroblastoma.
"It made me feel like I'm very special and I'm not alone," Delaney said.
Her mum Wendy Campbell added: "For a little girl to be really brave and want to shave her head in support of her friend, I thought that was a huge statement and it builds character in a child."
