Couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones Back Together?

Reunited couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones continued their return to the public eye with their second red carpet appearance in as many weeks.

The husband and wife team looked turned out to support their friend Meryl Streep as she received the Monte Cristo award in recognition of her stellar career, at a ceremony in New York.

Meryl joked that thanks to the retrospective of her career which took place during the evening made her feel like she was at her own funeral. "So I'm really happy," she said. "You don't usually get to be there."

She also thanked her husband, Don Gummer: "for those four children that I dreamed of on the beach that day. He came along, thank god!"

Meryl's sculptor husband – father to her three daughters Louisa, Grace and Mamie and son Henry – wasn't at the event, but Meryl was in good company with Michael and Catherine at her side for dinner.

The couple, who seemed happy and relaxed, made their return to the spotlight last week at the opening night of drama play The Library at The Public Theater in the Big Apple.
