Dead Toddler's Head Recovered By Nigerian Police

The Ogun State Police Command on Thursday said that it has recovered the head of the two-year-old boy who was beheaded recently at Ofada, Mowe, in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state.
A Nigerian, Mamodu Ibrahim, allegedly raped the toddler’s mother and beheaded the baby.

The suspect was later arrested and he told the police he sold the severed head to a woman in Ibadan, in neighbouring Oyo State.

The Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta on Thursday said the suspect took police investigators to Mokola area of Ibadan where the head was recovered in a bag in the bush on Tuesday, April 22.

“He has confessed to the crime but still keeping some information to himself as to those who sent him to get the head,” Mr. Adejobi said.

“The commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Ikemefuna Okoye has however directed the detectives to intensify efforts to uncover the buyers and those who engaged in such dirty deals in our society.”
