Ebonyi Speaker Impeached

The Ebonyi state House of Assembly has impeached speaker, Mr Chukwuma Nwazunku this morning.

The impeachment process which was carried out by 18 out of the 24 members of the House was done just immediately the ban on three members of the house who were on suspension (Frank Onwe, Eni Uduma Chime and deputy speaker, Blaise Orji) was lifted.

The Nation reports that one of the suspended member, Frank Onwe was the one who moved the motion that the speaker should be impeached while Enyi C. Enyi who is the minority leader seconded the motion. Eni Uduma Chima who is representing Afikpo South West thereafter moved the motion for election of Helen Nwaobasi representing Abakaliki South state constituency which was seconded by Jerry Obasi.
