'No country changes its leadership in the face of war' - Mr Abba Moro

Mr Abba Moro, the minister of Interior said no country changes its leadership in the face of crisis or war.
Moro also expressed sadness over the increasing bombings across the country, just as he prayed to God to console the families of those who died in the attacks in Kano and Adamawa states last Sunday.
The minister, who was addressing members of Opiatoha K’ Idoma in Ugbokolo, his country home, during their solidarity visit yesterday, explained that “in crisis or war situation, countries do not change their leaders.”

Rather, Moro said, “in such situation, the nation should rally round the president to end the crisis by supporting his second term bid,” adding, “this will also allow him to complete all the ongoing projects that is making tremendous bearing on the lives of Nigerians.”
The minister regretted that the security challenges that is rocking the nation was taking its toll on the fabric of the country and called on Nigerians to intensify prayers to God to touch the heart of the enemies of the country. He also urged Nigerians to pray for President Goodluck Jonathan for more wisdom and strength to surmount the challenges.

He assured of the determination of the present administration to ensure that peace reigned in the country, especially before the forth coming general election, just as he expressed optimism that the abducted secondary schoolgirls in Chibok will be released very soon.
Speaking on the succour promised by the president to the relatives of those who lost their lives on the heels of the Immigration recruitment exercise in March 15, the minister said that government was ready to implement the promise as soon as the committee set up to investigate the matter submits its report.

Speaking earlier, president of Opiatoha K’ Idoma, Chief Baba Odangla, said the Idoma nation was proud of the minister who he said had lived above board and discharged his responsibilities as minister with sense of commitment and zeal.
The group, on behalf of Idoma nation, expressed appreciation to President Jonathan for not heeding to the voices of destruction in resolving the crisis that trailed the Immigration recruitment exercise and reiterated the unalloyed support of the nation to the transformation agenda of Jonathan-led administration.
