Policemen Arrested, Stole From The Oba

Two policemen have been arraigned in Lagos magistrate court yesterday for allegedly stealing N30 million from the palace of Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu.
The offence, is punishable under Section 409, 285 (7) and 408, of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2011. Sections 285 states three years imprisonment, for any guilty offender, if found guilty. At the court, it was made known that these policemen, Victor Ikudehin and Philip Hunsa, both 34 years old are part of the security officers for the Oba of Lagos.

The Lagos magistrate’s court sitting at Igbosere presided over by Magistrate Helen Omisore, has charged the two policemen on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.  According to the Police prosecutor, Superintendent of Police, SP Charles Odii, the duo committed the offence between March 2012 and March 28, 2014 at the Oba’s Palace in Iduganran in Lagos Island.   Odii revealed that the money stolen by the two policemen belongs to His Royal Highness, Oba Rilwan Akiolu.
