'Politician are the cause of insecurity in the country' - Sultan Of Sokoto

The Sultan said the cause of the rise of insecurity in the nation is high-power politics ahead of the forthcoming 2015 elections.
According to Leadership report, Alhahi Sa'ad explained that those causing disputes and killings in Nigeria are not spirits but humans adding that innocent people who know nothing about leadership, enjoy nothing about the government are the ones suffering and paying the price.

Speaking on the issue of dialoguing with the insurgents, the Sultan said there is nowhere in the world where the use of force has worked in resolving insurgency.

He said every Nigerian should see himself/herself as a leader whose sole priority should be to ensure peace in the society adding that Nigerians should learn to separate politics from religion.

The Sultan said, "People should understand that Danfodiyo Jihad never forced people to join Islam; he only transformed the way those that claimed to be Muslims were practising the religion. Religion is so important in our lives but it is important for us to come together to collectively tackle the issue of insecurity.

"We must all come together to fight insecurity.

"All of us claim to be very religious but the question remains, are we doing what our religions say? Let’s take a look at where we are coming from."

He therefore called on everyone to come together to fight the insecurity plaguing the nation and also collectively pray for insurgency to end.

It would be recalled that Muslims under the aegis of Concerned Muslim Professionals had said they want the Sultan of Sokoto, to lead the dialogue with members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect so as to put an end to deadly attacks as there’s been no efforts by the Muslim leadership in the country to put an end to the crisis.
