Late Bola Ige’s Son Urged Citizens Not To Vote For Omisore

Former Minister of Justice’s son Late Chief Bola Ige (Muyiwa Ige) has called on the entire people of Osun not to vote for Senator Iyiola Omisore at the upcoming governorship election in Osun state scheduled to hold on 9 August, 2014.

According to Arc  Muyiwa Ige, who is popularly called the “Arole Ige” by his people, Omisore and his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), have no business with good governance, peace and the infrastructure development that Osun state is presently witnessing.

He alleged that the Omisore and PDP are only interested in creating chaos, looting the treasury and oppressing the people of the state.

“The party has no direction and their candidate has an integrity burden. They don’t have manifesto on what to do, they are only good at intimidation, harassment, lies and rigging but we must not be deterred.

“We should reject them with our votes, we need to be vigilant, firm and courageous, even in the face of intimidation as it is written in Joshua 1:9 and 1 Corinthians 16: 13 of the Holy Bible. And we must keep spreading the good news of Ogbeni till election day,” the young Ige told P.M NEWS during the Obokun Local Government rally that took place in Esa Oke, Esa Odo, Imesi Ile, Otan Ile and Ilare.

He charged the people of Osun not to let the late Cicero of Esa Oke, as the late Bola Ige is fondly called in the state, to be in vain.
The young Ige recounted how his late father was assassinated few days after his cap was removed.

He therefore charged the people to vote for the incumbent governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, so that the death of Uncle Bola Ige will not be in vain.
He assured that the local government will enjoy more developmental projects when Ogbeni comes back for the second term in office.
It would be recalled that on 23 December, 2001, the late Bola Ige was shot dead at his home in the south-western city of Ibadan.

Prior to his demise, he had been entangled in squabbles within his Alliance for Democracy party in Osun State. The previous week, the long-running feud between Osun state Governor Bisi Akande and his deputy, Iyiola Omisore, had apparently contributed to the death of an Osun State legislator, Odunayo Olagbaju.

The government of President Olusegun Obasanjo deployed troops in south-western Nigeria to try to prevent a violent reaction to the murder.

Although various people were arrested and tried for involvement in the murder, including Iyiola Omisore, all were acquitted.

As of today, the killers of the late Bola Ige had not been found.
