‘There was a lack of charisma in the ensemble segments of Dorobucci’s video’ – Charles Novia

One of Nigeria’s prominent producers Charles Novia, the renowned opinionated filmmaker took to his twitter to express his opinions about the Dorobucci’ musical video produce by popular music producer Don Jazzy.”

The cinematography was cool, concept was skewed. Video only sizzled at the beginning   when Don Jazzy had his bit.

A song composed and hitting all nooks in Nigeria gets its video shot in South Africa. There was a lack of charisma too in the ensemble segments. Only Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage had screen presence, others looked overwhelmed. It was a good visual effort for a fantastic audio hit but it could have been better.

                                                     

Maybe a Sesan or Clarence could have interpreted  it better.” He said

Chi Ibe a writer also has this to say:” Tiwa Savage appears bored by the whole proceedings, Dr Sid is…well, Dr Sid and D’Prince look like they are hanging on tightly to Don Jazzy’s coattails. If there is any bit of excitement at all in terms of delivery, it comes from the new acts, especially Reekado Banks and Di’Ja. The whole video goes by in a repetitive blur of boring shots”.

Backlash, it hasn’t failed to thrill some fans on the social media scene as they have unofficially called it 2014’s best video.
