Expatriate Chinese Worker Kidnapped

A Chinese national working in Kogi State was yesterday abducted by armed men suspected to be kidnappers.
It was gathered that the armed men invaded the Greater Lokoja Water Works, managed by a Chinese firm and kidnapped the expatriate from his residential quarters built for the workers by the Kogi State Government.

The incident happened barely 24 hours after gunmen attacked a police station in Adogo, the headquarters of Ajaokuta Local Council of the state.

A source said the armed men stormed the premises located at Ganaja Village at about 2am shooting sporadically to scare away neighbours living around the quarters.

A resident, Abubakar Usman, said that residents were terrified by loud gun shots which lasted for almost three hours.
When contacted, the Kogi state Police command, Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP, Elvise Aguebor was said to be out of office while several calls to his cell phone were not answered.
