Man Defiles Three Year Old

The Police operatives attached to Ayetoro Division of the Ogun State Police Command, have arrested a 25-year-old man, Kayode Akanni, at Pedepo village in Ohunbe, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State for defiling a three-year-old girl. 
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed in a statement, yesterday.

Adejobi said the parents of the victim reported the case to the police when they noticed that there were bruises on her private part before the police eventually arrested the suspect.

According to the suspect, during police interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect tricked the young girl into his room and had unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl.

He said the suspect had confessed to the crime, adding that the victim has been taken to a hospital for treatment and to get medical report of the case.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, Ikemefuna Okoye, has ordered that the case be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta for thorough investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police has condemned the act and promised to carry out thorough investigation and perfect prosecution of the matter as such will deter people from engaging in such barbaric act.

“He stated further that the command will always put in place measures that will reduce crimes and social vices to the barest minimum, and urged parents to keep watch on their children and wards,” he said.
