Nigeria Drops Further Down On Fifa Ranking

In the latest FIFA ranking released, defending African Champions, Nigeria has fallen from the 31st to 37th.

Nigeria was initially in the 31st position after the World Cup but have lost four points due to their bad run of form in African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Eagles are currently 6th in Africa with Algeria (20 and 1 in CAF), Cote D’ Ivoire (22), Tunisia (31), Ghana (33), Senegal (36). 

After Nigeria, Cameroon comes along on the 8th position while Cape Verde, Guinea, and Burkina Faso occupy the 7th, 9th and 10th position respectively.

Nigeria had lost to Congo (48 and 11 in CAF) in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers and drew with South Africa (69 to 67).

Sudan will be is 133rd in the world, occupying the 40th position in Africa. 

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are expected to take on Sudan in a double legged do or die AFCON qualification tie.
