Satellite Televison Channel, Cable News Network (CNN) has listed late Dr.
Stella Shade Ameyo Adadevoh as one of the “Leading Women’s Most Inspiring Women
of 2014″
Dr. Adadevoh was a
58-year-old endocrinologist at the First Consultant Hospital in Obalende,
Lagos.
She is credited with
having curbed a wider spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria by placing the
patient zero, Patrick Sawyer, in quarantine despite pressures from the Liberian
Government.
On 4 August 2014, it was
confirmed that she tested positive for the Ebola virus strain and was being
treated. She died in the afternoon of 19 August 2014.
The women were nominated
by viewers of CNN worldwide. Women nominated were across diverse range of
professions who stood out for their accomplishments this year.

Writing about Dr.
Adadevoh, the station wrote on its website:

actress, Lupita Nyong’o.
The Federal Government
had described late Dr. Adadevoh, as ‘a real Nigerian hero.’ after her death.
