In a bid to affirm the
new law of ‘no begging’ in Lagos, the Lagos state government has done something
drastic to 70 beggars recently.
Sahara Reporters made it
known that the Lagos State government has deported 70 northerners who were
found publicly begging; an act which has been banned in the state.
The beggars were said to
have been bundled out of Lagos state where they were stationed and are
presently in Kano State.
However, a local Hausa
radio program monitored in Kano, made it known that the deportees complained
that they were held for months and exposed to hardship before they were brought
to Kano.
Some of them were said
to be originally from Niger, Kebbi, Jigawa, Kaduna, Sokoto and Zamfara states.
It would be recalled
that just few days ago, three fake beggars landed in trouble while trying to
extort money from unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of being
blind in Delta state.

Maybe Lagos will look better
