Nicki Minaj Depicts Devastating Breakup in “The Pinkprint Movie”

American female rapper Nicki Minaj’s long-awaited “The Pinkprint” movie has been released; it’s a bittersweet experience for the Queens-bred MC. As palpable on her third album, Nicki recorded the project through the dissolution of her long-time relationship with ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels.
She depicts her heartbreak visually in a new short film called “The Pinkprint Movie”, which shows Ms. Minaj going through the stages of a breakup, sound tracked by songs from her new LP. Boris Kodjoe and Willy Monfret appear in the emotional 16-minute clip.

The breakup has been a central topic in Nicki’s recent interviews. Unfortunately those still-tender feelings found their way onto Twitter on Saturday, via a short back-and-forth between the Young Money superstar and her ex.

Even when I try to protect people, they still try to take advantage of me. Haven’t you learned that God is in control? Stop while you’re ahead,” Nicki started, indirectly expressing her disappointment in her ex. She alludes to being blackmailed by Samuels despite years of supporting and sheltering him.
“Anything you don’t appreciate will be taken. God sees your ungrateful evil soul. I gave and gave and gave. Threatening me? Blackmail? Jump.”

Safaree logged on to respond. “I’m disappointed too… You’re doing something to me publicly that the public doesn’t know you’re doing but you’re the victim [’cause] you’re famous... smh.” he wrote. “It’s so ridiculous that instead of hitting my phone you come on here... I don’t know what your talking about at all!... I can’t believe we’re doing this. We used to laugh at people for this.”
