Tayo Faniran, who emerged 2nd runner-up at the just
concluded Big Brother Africa-Hotshots, has opened up on this year’s show,
saying that he was shocked when Idris Sultan of Tanzania was declared the
winner of the reality show.
Speaking with the media at a welcome party organised in
his honour by Multi-Choice Nigeria, M-Net, Tayo said, “I was really shocked
when IK declared Idris winner of the show.
I genuinely thought I would win, or at least be declared
a co-winner! Nonetheless, I’m incredibly grateful for the unique opportunity
and exposure Big Brother has given me.
All I can tell Nigerians, Africa, and the rest of the
world now is “watch this space!” The 28-year old model and latest dad in town
explained that the interaction with other Africans in the Big Brother house and
the exposure to the rich and diverse cultures in Africa have adequately
prepared him to further pursue a career in acting, singing, or as a TV
presenter.
MultiChoice General Manager, Marketing, Martin Mabutho
expressed the MultiChoice’s pride in the reality show’s ability to bring
Africans together. “MultiChoice, M-Net, and the show’s partners, worked hard to
make this season of Big Brother Africa bigger than the last and we thank all
stakeholders for their support,” he said. The reality show which began with 26
housemates successfully came to an end on Sunday, 7 December 2014.
