Ragamuffins In Lagos Damages Road, Cars,3 Killed Many Injured

Three persons were shot dead in a violent clash between street urchins battling for supremacy at Amukoko-Ajegunle area of Lagos State, while several others sustained severe injuries.
Some vehicles parked on Alapede, Abdul Rasheed and Turner Streets off Ojo Road, were damaged as the hoodlums opened fire on themselves. The hoodlums, said to be members of Alaba and Apasa boys, have been locked in a protracted bloody battle over control of motor and tricycle parks in the area.
Several persons, including woman and children, have been killed during violent clashes between these groups, who were also alleged to be loyal to a political party in the area. Eyewitness said that the latest clash, which occurred on Friday night, started when members of Apasa group went on a reprisal attack on members of Alaba group who are residents of Alapede, Abdul-Rasheed and Turner Streets, shooting indiscriminately.

Three of the persons killed during the clashes were said to be members of Alaba group, while those injured were innocent residents in the area. An eyewitness, Bolaji Ajayi, said Apasa boys took Alaba boys by surprise during the reprisal attack.
