Boko Haram Suspect Acted As A Madman In Buni Yadi

A bumpy Okwe road leads to the home of Ralph Uwazuruike, leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) 19 August 2005.More than three decades after the breakaway Republic of Biafra suffered a bloody defeat at the hands of federal forces, rebellious shoppers are once again spending Biafran pounds and shillings in the markets of southeastern Nigeria. In the latest sign of the centrifugal forces threatening to tear Africa's largest oil exporter apart, ethnic Igbo rebel leaders have reintroduced the bills, which are identical to those minted during Biafra's doomed three-year struggle for independence. According to PM news, a Boko Haram suspect acted as a madman narrowly escaped arrest in Buni Yadi, Gujba LGA, Yobe state.
It comes after the Nigerian military recaptured Buni Yadi from Boko Haram over the weekend.

The commander of the 27th Task Force Brigade in Damaturu, Colonel Usman Yusuf, disclosed March 10, yesterday, that he had ordered troops to arrest an alleged madman discovered in one of the buildings.

PM News reports that the soldiers immediately went after the man who was wearing a white garment and chanting some incantations. However, the man suddenly disappeared.
The military commander vowed to catch the suspected insurgent, who purportedly feigned insanity to carry out his surveillance mission.

Yusuf added that 17 LGAs had been reclaimed by the troops within the last 3 weeks. Speaking with NAN, he described the liberated strategic town of Buni Yadi as one of the strongholds of fighters in the state.

It was reported yesterday that the military had reclaimed Bama, another major town of Borno state, which had been under Boko Haram control since September, 2014.
