‘It’s unconstitutional to call Aisha Buhari “Her Excellency” First Lady is waste of money” – Senator Sani

Shehu Sani thinks it’s unconstitutional to spend money from treasury on the First Lady.
Shehu Sani warned Muhammadu Buhari of repeating Goodluck Jonathan’s mistakes, whose wife led lavish lifestyle at public expense.
The senator-elect for Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, came up with a statement, saying it is unconstitutional to call Aisha Buhari Her Excellency and waste money from treasury on the First Lady.

Speaking at the meeting with the executives of the Kaduna Branch of the Federecion Internationale De Agbogadas, the senator-elect for Kaduna Central Senatorial District came up with a following statement.

“I want to advice our own party members who are in government at the executive level to be very much cautious about making the office of the First Lady flamboyant,” he told, adding that “this is because I am not aware whether the constitution of Nigeria recognized that the First Lady has an office and that she must be called Her Excellency. And it should therefore by very unconstitutional to allocate money to the office of the First Lady”

Mr. Sani, who is a member of the All Progressive Congress, also told that Muhammadu Buhari should stay away from the surroundings of former president, describing them as “parasites”.

“President Buhari must set up an economic team that is made up of academics and economic experts and not businessmen and parasites in the corridors of powers who have always used the opportunities in being in the economic team of government to formulate policies that will better their own businesses,” Shehu Sani said.

Earlier Shehu Sani, the senator-elect for Kaduna Central District, insisted that Muhammadu Buhari should avoid the foreign policy exercised by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Sani urged Muhammadu Buhari to reassert the country’s leading role in Africa. Therefore he stressed the importance for Buhari to form a team of experts which would work in cooperation with the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs and Council on Foreign Relations.

Sani also characterized President Jonathan’s privatization moves as a theft of Nigeria’s resources.
