Cars Collided Man Stabs To Death

The suspect got out of the car in front and stabbed the driver more than once, before getting back into his car and driving away.
Sussex Police said the 79-year-old victim, whose identity has not been revealed, died at the scene.
A manhunt has been launched after a driver got out of his car and stabbed another motorist to death after a vehicle collision.

The stabbing took place after two cars collided on the A24 at Findon, West Sussex, on Thursday night.

A spokesman said: "Police are investigating a fatal stabbing of a man following a collision between two cars on the A24, opposite the garden centre at Rogers Farm, Findon, just before 8.40pm on Thursday.

"A suspect who was in the car in front got out and stabbed the driver of the other car. The air ambulance landed and paramedics carried out first aid on the victim but he died at the scene.

"The suspect got back in the vehicle and drove off. Inquiries are ongoing to trace the suspect. The A24 is currently shut in both directions by the Black Horse pub."

Martin Brunt, Sky News Crime Correspondent, said the stabbing took place on the edge of the picturesque village in the south-downs.

He said: "It suggests that the two [cars] were travelling in the same direction.

"It sounds like a case of road rage, but that's not entirely clear, unless of course the two men involved knew each other and this was the result of some other dispute.

"It must have been still pretty light, it was quite a clear evening, so police believe there must be other witnesses."

Laura Muchmore, 21, who works in a garden centre close to the scene, said: "It's really shocking for an area like this. Nothing ever happens round here.

"And it's especially shocking that the victim was an old man. Findon is a really lovely little village. It's so picturesque and it's not known for this type of crime."

The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 30 and 40, around 6ft tall and had shoulder length brown wavy hair and a thin face.

His car is described as a pale coloured old-style vehicle.
