At Alaba, along
the Lagos-Badagry Expressway the dead body of an unknown man was on Monday,
discovered.
The deceased, said to have been staggering
home after leaving a drinking joint where local gin, popularly called paraga,
is sold, reportedly fell and hit his head on the pavement.
An eyewitness
said the dying man made attempts to call for help by repeatedly lifting his
right hand, but that no one made any effort to assist him.
The incident,
according to another eyewitness, created panic as local gin vendors hurriedly
closed for the day for fear of being arrested in connection with the tragedy.
Report said
when police-men from Orile Division arrive the scene, the man was confirmed
dead.
