New Dead Figures Of Jos Twin Blast Emerges

Due to the twin explosion less than fifty people were confirmed dead after the twin explosions rocked Jos, the Plateau state capital on Sunday, July 5 2015.

The first explosion occurred at Bauchi road, just before the University of Jos main campus, while the second explosion occurred around Yantaya, Nasarawa Gwon area, both in Jos North local government area of the state.

The Nation reports that the explosions occurred in a mosque and a restaurant.

Tafsir, an Islamic sermon session, was being conducted in the mosque at the time of the second explosion, NAN reports.

Meanwhile, the director in charge of the North-Central zone of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mohammed Abdulsalam, said the number of casualties was 44.

He told journalists via telephone on Monday, July 7, that 48 other people were badly injured, and are currently hospitalized in various hospitals in Jos.

But the Plateau state government insisted that only 18 people died in the incidents, with 18 others injured.

The twin explosions occurred just hours after a suicide bomber killed himself and 6 people at a local branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Potiskum, Yobe state.
