Modern Version Of Popular Fresh Prince of Bel Air Series In Production

The man in black actor is back, TV Line and Variety reported that Smith’s production company, Overbrook Entertainment, is in the early stages of producing a modern-day version of the popular Fresh Prince of Bel Air series.
Will Smith is reportedly working on a reboot of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, the show that launched his acting career in the 1990s.

Smith would only be involved as a producer and the show would reportedly involve brand new characters, while keeping the fish-out-water concept.

In the original series, Smith played a street-smart teen from Philadelphia who moves in with wealthy, respectable relatives in California.

The sitcom, which ran on NBC from 1990 to 1996, earned Emmy and Golden Globes nominations and turned Smith, who had been a popular rapper in the 1980s under the name The Fresh Prince, into a household name.
