The thirty year old victim,
who was immediately transferred to the hospital, was gang-raped by four men
suspected to be members of the Oodua Peoples Congress in the Alapere area of
Lagos State.
The perpetrators further
threatened her not to reveal details of the incident to anybody.
The incident occurred just
inside her makeshift shop, at the Mile 12 market, Vanguard reports.
It has also been gathered
that the victim, following series of threats, isn’t disposed to speak any
further on the attack and her perpetrators.
Efforts to reach the police
have been abortive as there has been outright denial from the Divisional Police
Officer (DPO) in Alapere.
Patricia Amadim the DPO
denied having knowledge of any such attack on a woman in the market.
In a similar development,
an 18-year-old girl seeking admission into the University of Lagos was raped by
a lecturer, one Dr. Akin Baruwa, who has now been denied by authorities of the
institution.
According to the statement
from the institution, Baruwa is neither an academic or a non-academic staff.
