The petition challenging
Kashamu’s victory in the March 28 2015 National Assembly elections, was filed
by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The National and state
Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State today
nullified the election of the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial
district, Prince Buruji Kashamu, over non-compliance with electoral law.
The panel while delivering
its judgement ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to
conduct a fresh election in 110 polling units in the Senatorial district within
90 days.
Kashamu represented the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election.
