(Left in picture) The highly respected
traditional ruler died, the Ohi of Adavi, HRH Ohi Ibrahim Asuku in Kogi Central
zone of Kogi state was aged 71.
Many traditional chiefs
were seen paying their last respect to
the monarch, while preparation is on for his burial according to Islamic rites.
The late Ohi Adavi will be
remembered for enthroning peace in the area throughout his reign and will be
missed for his role in developing Adaviland.
Born in 1944 and hailed
from Adavi-Eba (Upopo-Uvete) in Apasi group of clans in Adavi Local Government
Area of Kogi state, HRH Dr. Bello Asuku Ibrahim attended the then I.N.A Central
School Okene between 1955 and 1960 and
was later trained as a Grade Two Teacher at Okene Teachers’ College
(OTC) from 1962 to 1966.
In 1967, he enrolled at the
Advanced Teachers’ College, Kano where he obtained an NCE preparatory for entry
into the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) for the BSc. (Hons) between 1974
and 1977, with speciality in Health and Physical Education.
