Though the
world’s longest documented hair is Xie Qiuping, also Chinese, at 5,6, when
measured on May 8, 2004, another fifty-nine-year-old woman who has not cut her
hair for 35 years was discovered in Yunnan, southwest China.
Gu Meiying has started growing her hair in the last century, when she was just 24 years old. Since that time her mane reached a staggering 2m 50cm! However, such a treasure needs a special care.

First Mrs
Meiying simply tied her hair behind her back, when it became too long, she
plaited her mane in a single braid which she wears as a turban or just wraps it
around her waist.
She said: “I always treat my long braid like a
treasure and talisman. I think growing hair is like maintaining life so I
haven’t cut it.”
Even when she
was offered a 19,000 yuan (N596,100) for her unbelievably long braid Mrs
Meiying refused. The old woman hopes to get into the Guinness Book of World
Records.
Though her
hair cause some difficulties, woman keeps working and only complains that it
takes around a week to dry it properly after washing. The farmer believes that
long hair will garantee her better health and long life.
HOW DOES SHE MANAGE THE HAIR, NOT NICE
