Bell held four different
titles during his thirteen-years of boxing career it includes the WBA, WBC and
IBF cruiserweight titles before the former boxing champion was shot dead.
Neil was getting out of the
vehicle in Atlanta when he and another person were shot on 25th of
November 2015, police confirm.
The two suspects then
robbed the pair and the 40-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in
southwest Atlanta.
The second victim, who has
not been identified, was shot in the hip and taken to hospital.
Police in the city said the
investigation is ongoing.
Local television station
WSB-TV reported that police are looking for four men wanted in connection with
the killing.
Police said the men are
suspected of being behind two vehicle thefts and the robberies of several
people, according to WSB-TV.
Mr Bell's mother Norma was
quoted by the station as saying: "I just hope they catch the people who
did this to him.
"He didn't deserve to
die like that."
