River’s state governor Wike in his statement on Monday, signed by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant (Media ), enjoined Nigerians to disregard the fake Facebook posting criticising the judgment of the Taraba State Governorship Election Tribunal judgment as he Wike does not run any such Facebook page where the uncomplimentary remarks were made.
He urged all the social
media platforms and blogs that have published the post from the fake Facebook
Page, ‘Nyesom Wike’ to pull down same as they do not represent the views of
Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
He went futher to say that
last week, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at a well-publicised stakeholders
meeting at the Government House, Port Harcourt declared that he has never
authorised any aide to make uncomplimentary remarks on the judiciary. The
governor as a lawyer respects the judiciary and will never disparage it.
This is yet another scheme
by the opposition to use unverified social media platforms to mislead members
of the public. Governor Wike will never be distracted by these unfortunate
illegal political schemes.
