Mohammed Haliru Bello Removed As PDP Chairman

Mohammed Haliru Bello is alleged to be involved in sharing $2.1 billion funds for arms scandal.  The acting PDP chairman was voted out, to be removed by Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Bello reportedly collected N300 million from the former national security adviser, Dasuki during 2015 election.

Senator Walid Jibril, BOT secretary, who announced Bello’s removal during a meeting with journalists in Abuja  added that his tenure had also expired.

“The BOT unanimously appointed Walid Jibril as the acting chairman while still remaining as the substantive BOT secretary,” he added.
Jubril explained further that Bello was elected to the position for only three months and that he had overstayed the period given to him.
