Laachraoui
had been named in Belgian media reports as the third man filmed on CCTV at the
airport, alongside two other bombers - Ibrahim El Bakraoui and a second
suspect, both of whom killed themselves in the attacks.
Many people possibly
linked to the terror attacks in Brussels are still at large, say federal
prosecutors.
Frederic Van Leeuw
identified two of the attackers at the airport and metro as brothers Ibrahim
and Khalid El Bakraoui but said others involved in the attacks have not yet
been caught.
He did not identify two of
the three men caught on airport CCTV moments before the explosives were
detonated.
Belgian media, however,
identified the suspect pictured wearing the hat as Najim Laachraoui, 25.
DH newspaper
reported Laachraoui had been captured in the city's Anderlecht district on
Wednesday morning, with many others quickly following.
About an hour
later, however, the DH withdrew the report, saying: "Contrary to what we
announced, the man arrested in Anderlecht is not Najim Laachraoui".
