"If you’ve a problem with the way I dress is a reflection of your prejudice” – Madonna Fires Back At Critics

At the 2016 Met Gala Award legendary pop singer Madonna's outfit choice was met with harsh criticism. Taking to Instagram to address the "ageist" and "s*xist" commentaries accompanying her earlier photos from the night, Madonna issued a powerful statement, on par with her inspired Manus x Machina outfit, about gender equality and freedom of sexual expression.
Ironically posting a picture of herself in the shadows of her car, Madonna noted that "when it comes to women's rights we are still living in the dark ages," and in large part, we'd have to agree. Reflecting that her sartorial ensemble was just as fashion forward as it was politically inclined, the inimitable pop star lamented the "limited way" some fans felt about her purportedly inappropriate age dressing, encouraging them to "take risks... and road[s] less travelled" instead.

Further tackling her haters head on, she wrote "If you have a problem with the way I dress it is simply a reflection of your prejudice." Hear, hear.

Enlisting the support of Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Beyonce, amongst other industry heavyweights and fellow guests at this year's event, tagging them all in the same photo (which has since received 68,251 likes and counting), to raise awareness for the fight against gender discrimination, Madonna vowed to "remain unapologetic and a rebel," across fashion and femininity alike, inviting her 6.9 million Instagram audience to take heed and follow suit.
