The Queen
sent her first ever tweet in 2014 when she opened a new Science Museum
exhibition with the message: "It is a pleasure to open the Information Age
exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting.
Elizabeth R."
The Queen has sent a tweet
of thanks to everyone who sent her 90th birthday wishes via social media.
In a message sent from the
official Royal Family account, Her Majesty wrote: "I am most grateful for
the many digital messages of goodwill I have received and would like to thank
you all for your kindness. Elizabeth R."
In case anyone wondered
whether the post had been written by the monarch herself and not one of her
press officers, two minutes later another tweet appeared confirming: "This
tweet was personally sent by Her Majesty The Queen."
