James Salmon, who owns tour
boat company Dover Sea Safari, has rescued scores of migrants from the English
Channel in the past year - and warned that the problem is getting worse.
The Border Force officials
have intercepted three suspected migrants trying to reach the UK in a small
boat, amid warnings the situation is getting worse.
It is understood the boat
was initially detected by a passing ferry ship.
The Home Office says the
three people on board are believed to be Iranians.
"They have since been
transported to Dover where processing of the group is underway," the Home
Office said.
Details of the interception
emerged just hours after Sky News was shown the relative ease with which
migrants can slip across the Channel, undetected by maritime security.
One of the UK's most
experienced skippers says people smugglers are increasingly chartering small
boats to make 50-mile round trips to France, passing through one of the world's
busiest shipping lanes.
James Salmon said our boat
set off from a beach near the town of Deal, which has been favoured by migrant
smugglers in the past.
It took just over an hour
to travel to a beach at Wissant, which is eight miles west of Calais, in calm
waters and sunny skies.
The journey back to the UK,
however, was less straight forward.
What is the country they escape from doing about it?
