Ondo-State Carnival Cult Clashes 2 Dead

A source said two rival cult groups had earlier engaged in a fight before the carnival in Kogbona community in Ondo State commenced. There was tension over the killing, as many youths protested.
The clash among youths has left two people dead and 20 persons injured yesterday during a carnival in Kogbona community in Ondo State. Security men were said to be helpless when the crisis broke out, leading to a free-for-all.

One of the dead, who was identified as Afusat Ayodeji, was the alleged leader of a cult group in the town, while the identity of the other victim was unknown.


The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Enuowa, Mr Kunle Omisakin has confirmed the arrest of two persons.
