Police Alert: London Mosques Receives Envelopes With White Powdery Substance

According to Metro counter terrorism officers are carrying out an investigation after envelopes containing white powder were sent to mosques across London.
Mosques in Tottenham, Leyton and Finsbury Park alerted police after letters, including one that had ‘p*** filth’ written on it, arrived yesterday afternoon.
A Muslim Labour peer, Lord Ahmed, also received a similar package, as did a business in Canning Town.
Specialist officers in hazard suits were called to the mosques, which were temporarily closed down and evacuated.

‘Whoever sent E10’s noor Ul Islam suspicious package know I will press the police for the strongest penalties possible when you are caught,’ said Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy this morning.
One worshipper at Masjid Ayesha in Clyde Road said he understood the powder was chalk.
‘A committee member from the mosque called the police after his dad felt itchy from the white powder.
‘The police then called a bomb squad to examine the crime scene… The white powder was just chalk.’
He added: ‘Someone somewhere is trying to send the Muslim community in the UK a message. And whether we like it or not Islamaphobia is real.’
