Mrs Eke, said
in her family house at 45, Osowa Street, Asaba, she was married for five years
without a child, before God blessed her with the stolen boy and his sister.
The little
boy of two years old, Godwill Awah Eke, has been reportedly stolen in Asaba and
the family are pleading to anybody keeping the baby to release him.
According to
her, she returned from her business as a petty trader last week Wednesday and
left the boy under the care of his cousin, Basil, to attend to a customer who
was calling on her to supply dried shrimps.
She said that
upon her return some minutes later, they discovered that the boy, who was
exactly one year and nine months old before he was taken away, was no-where to
be found within the compound.
Mrs Eke, who
hails from Isiugwu-Ohafia in Ohafiah Local Government Area, of Abia State, said
she raised an alarm and all efforts to locate him proved abortive, adding that
she had reported to the police but nothing positive, had been said.
She said that
although her church, Presbyterian Church, Asaba has resorted to prayer to God’s
intervention, her husband, Awah Eke, has also reported to elders of the village
to inform all landlords and tenants so that whoever is holding the child should
let him out of captivity.
She
reiterated her appeal to the police and members of the public who have an idea
of the whereabouts of the baby to assist in locating him by reporting to the
nearest police station or the family.
The Police
Public Relation Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mrs. Celestina Kalu DSP, could not
answer several calls put across to her on GSM line.
