The Independent National
Electoral Commission, INEC, has commenced collation of ballots cast in
yesterday’s Edo governorship election.
INEC just made the
confirmation on its Twitter handle: @inecnigeria.
The electoral umpire called
on the public to tune in to some television stations to “watch the live
collation of results” for the election.
A winner is expected to be
declared afterwards.
The keenly contested, was
straight battle between Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, and Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The election earlier
scheduled to hold Saturday September 10, was moved to Wednesday September 28.
