“It’s easier to insult me on radio after embezzling over N4bn for uncompleted road” - Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike yesterday at the construction of a road in Bodo City, described as unfortunate a situation where a privileged politician would swindle his people.
He accused the APC senator, Magnus Abe who had represented Rivers South-East, of abandoning the Kpobie-Bodo road project after allegedly collecting over N4bn to complete it.
“Any politician who can embezzle the funds meant for the execution of a road project in his local government area deserves our empathy. It is easier for him to insult me on radio, but my only reply is to complete the road he abandoned because I love Ogoni people.

“When we were completing several projects abandoned by the immediate past administration, instead of showing appreciation, they were insulting me on the radio. Continue...
“My commitment to the Rivers State people is unwavering. Insults cannot stop me from developing Rivers State and completing the projects that will improve the lives of the people,” Governor Wike said.

He however assured the people that the road would be completed within three months with street lights and underground drainage.

Abe has however denied the allegation describing it as false, adding that no money was embezzled on the Kpopie-Bodo Road project.
