Child Molestation Akure Pastor Found Guilty Of Molestation

A Chief Magistrate Court in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, presided over by Mrs. Victoria Bob-Manuel handed down the sentence to the pastor after he was found guilty of child molestation.
For sodomizing male children resident around his church, a Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church pastor, Waleola Sunday was on Wednesday sentenced to three years in jail.

Trouble started for the pastor after a tip-off led officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state to the pastor’s church in Oke Aro where he was arrested.

Ebiriku David, the legal officer of the NSCDC told the Court that the pastor was a “serial homosexual” who was in the habit of seducing young males.

David said the offence of the prophet was against section 32 (1) of the Ondo State Child Right Law 2017.
While pleading guilty to the crime before the court, the 32-year-old pastor blamed the devil for his misdemeanour.

Sunday who confessed that he had sodomized about four children said he picks up his victims from public schools during break.
“I would take them to the bush and seduce before they returned back to their classes,” he told the court.

“I believe it’s devils work because I would always come back to my senses after I molested the little boys.”
At last, the erring clergyman was sent to the Olokuta Prison yard, Akure for three years.
